VXRLabs Overview

VictoryXR offers two immersive learning platforms. This manual covers VXRLabs and VXR Nexus, VictoryXR’s web-based account and license management system. For help with HoloTutor, VictoryXR’s web-based AI tutor, please see the HoloTutor documentation.

3 min read Updated September 2026

VXRLabs is an immersive learning platform—preferably accessed through a virtual reality headset, but also available as a desktop application—that provides hands-on interactive simulations, 3D educational environments, 360° educational videos, mixed reality experiences, AI-driven content, and more. It includes virtual science labs, career and technical education (CTE) modules, dissections, field trips, historical environments, and subject-specific learning spaces designed for active, experiential learning.

Designed for Campus Wide Learning

VXRLabs is built to support major instructional materials disciplines across an entire institution. Rather than serving a single department, VXRLabs offers deep content coverage for a wide range of academic areas, making it a comprehensive, institution-wide solution.

Multiplayer (Synchronous) and Single Player (Asynchronous) Learning

The learning experiences are both synchronous (multiplayer) and asynchronous (single-player). This means that a school/teacher can host an entire class in a virtual reality lab, or assign students to engage in independent study.

Simulations and Creator Spaces

VXRLabs features cost-effective, safe, and immersive simulations in a wide variety of subject matter, including Chemistry, History, Literature & Language, Math, Biology, and more. Transform every lesson into an unforgettable adventure and create a lifelike experience for learning. The flexibility you have with VXRLabs is unique, making it easy to cover cross-subject and multi-disciplinary teaching practices with ease. For example, students can conduct chemistry or biology experiments, explore themes of literature, understand mathematical use cases, practice forensics and journalism, complete career exploration activities in fields like robotics, agricultural science, or carpentry, and more, all within one application. With Creator Spaces, users can choose a pre-built virtual “classroom”, or start from scratch in our Creator Space Sandbox. With access to a huge library of spawnable objects, a 3D pen, sticky notes, media file sharing, and more, unleash creativity, refine skills, and bring visions to life.

Conversational AI

VXRLabs includes an AI Creator Studio and Library for designing AI Lessons and Conversations that students can access in-headset.

  • AI Conversations enable roleplay with dynamic AI characters such as historical figures, business leaders, or simulated patients.
  • AI Lessons allow students to learn content directly from AI-driven instructors in a more interactive format than video or text.

If you prefer pre-built content, the AI Library includes hundreds of ready-to-use Lessons and Conversations.

Professional Development

VXRLabs features professional development created by educators and based on current research in spatial learning and pedagogy. These modules help instructors understand best practices for teaching in immersive environments.

Host Controls

Teachers have access to robust VR host tools, including spatial volume management, adjustable student permissions, and group teleportation, providing structured and efficient classroom management in virtual spaces.

Student Metrics

The Activity Logs system provides itemized tracking of student progress. Instructors can create class rosters (no student data required) and review detailed metrics generated as students complete assigned simulations and experiences.

Streamlined Learning Management System

Nexus delivers our version of a learning management system, allowing instructors to manage classes, create and manage student accounts, complete professional development modules, track metrics, and build or assign instructional materials tailored for immersive learning.

Free to Download

VXRLabs is free to download with content that is always available at no cost. A basic VXRLabs License offers access to hundreds of pre-built and scoped learning experiences via our simulations and 360° videos, as well as unlimited subject exploration with Creator Spaces and AI Lessons and Conversations. We also offer limited premium content (CTE and Dissection Content) that includes additional fees.

Scalable and Infinitely Expandable

The VXRLabs content library grows continuously through both VictoryXR-created modules and user-generated content created by educators worldwide, including lesson plans, environments, and AI experiences.

Multi-Device

VXRLabs is compatible with a wide range of devices, including:

Standalone / Desktop / Mobile Platforms

  • Windows devices
  • MacBooks

Creating an Account

The first step in getting started will be to create your VictoryXR account. Once your order is processed, you will receive an order confirmation email from VictoryXR. This email includes the links to access your products. VXRLabs licenses are managed in Nexus at account.victoryxr.com. If your purchase includes a headset, you will receive a separate email with delivery information once your headset has shipped. Please allow 14 business days for shipping.

Creating an Account screenshot

You will also receive an automated Welcome to VictoryXR! email. In this email, you will find important information on accessing your content, including a code for redeeming your licenses, and you will be prompted to select the blue Get Started button at the bottom of the email. When you select Get Started, your licenses will be automatically redeemed to the email address associated with your purchase. To redeem your licenses to a different email address, go to account.victoryxr.com/redeem and enter the code from the email instead. If you don’t see this email in your inbox, please check your spam folder.

Creating an Account screenshot

Upon selecting the Get Started button you will be redirected to our Sign Up page where you will input a display name, email address, and your desired password, and then select Create an Account. Please note that you must use the same email address that you used to purchase your products. If purchasing more than one subscription, you will not need to set up two accounts with this email. All products will be under your one organization (see next step). Please also keep in mind that the email and password you input here will be used to access the VXRLabs application in-headset (if your purchase includes a VXRLabs license), unless the license(s) will be attributed to other members within your organization. Please write these credentials down in a safe place to reference later. If you have SSO credentials through Clever or Edlink, you can also create an account by selecting Sign Up with Clever or Sign Up with Edlink.

Creating an Account screenshot

Once you input the necessary account creation information and select the Create an Account button, you will be required to Verify Your Email. Once you've verified your email address, you can click the Sign In button at the bottom of the screen to sign in to your account. If you did not receive a verification email, please check your spam folder first, and if you can’t find it there - contact info@victoryxr.com.

Setting up an Organization

Upon your first time signing in, you will have several VictoryXR onboarding tasks to complete. The first step will be to select the type of organization that you are a part of - College or University, K-12 School, Homeschool, or Business or Other. Please note, if you are an individual subscriber or you are not affiliated with one of these organization types, you can select Business or Other.

Students will not receive a notification to create an account, because you have already created their accounts. Please record each username and password in a safe place so that you can share them with the student. Students can then sign in to VXRLabs directly with those credentials.

Assigning Licenses

Adding a user is the first step in providing access to content for a Student, Instructor, or Team Lead. The second step is to assign a license to the new user.

To view your organization’s licenses, open Organization Management > Subscription. Each product your organization has purchased is listed with its quantity (number of licenses), purchase date, and expiration date.

Assigning Licenses screenshot
  • Assign Licenses: Open the License Management page for that product.
  • Renew: Renew the subscription through the VictoryXR store.
  • Change Owner: Move the subscription to a different organization.
  • Redeem Code: Apply a redemption code from a purchase. Enter the Code, select the organization to redeem the product(s) to, and select Redeem Code.

You can also open License Management by selecting the VXRLabs tile on the Nexus Dashboard and then License Management, or by using one of the links below:

License Management shows how many seats are assigned, your total seats, when licenses were last purchased, and the next expiration date. The table lists every user in your organization and whether they have been granted access: users with a license assigned have a green checkmark, and users without a license have a red X. A user must have a license assigned to access content. Licenses can be granted and revoked instantly; select Revoke License next to a user to remove their license. You can also select Add Users to invite new users from this page.

Professional Development

All Instructors and Team Leads can access and complete our Professional Development course. By completing the 4-hour training course, you’ll earn our Spatial Learning Micro-Certificate. To access it, select VXRLabs on the Nexus Dashboard, select Resources, and then select Professional Development.

Professional Development screenshot

The Professional Development training consists of videos, diagrams, research, and text-based learning resources that focus on the science of learning, and how extended reality fits into education. The course also includes two training opportunities with the VictoryXR team (an In-Headset Training Session and an Instructional Materials Conversation), as well as two assessments: development of a Spatial Learning Lesson Plan using VXRLabs, and development of a corresponding Rubric to create a system of measurement to pair with the lesson plan.

After reviewing the videos, diagrams, research, and text-based learning resources, you’ll find registration forms for our In-App Training Session and Instructional Materials Conversation. You can also register for an In-App Training Session from the In-App Training Registration tile on the VXRLabs product page.

After completing the In-App Training Session and Instructional Materials Conversation, you’ll find instructions for completing and submitting the Spatial Lesson Plan & Rubric, which includes creating a Class, building a Lesson Plan in Nexus, and submitting both to receive your micro-certificate.

Add-On Content

A VXRLabs License provides access to our base library of experiences within VXRLabs. Add-On content offerings, such as our CTE Bundles, are purchased separately from your VXRLabs License. To access Add-On content, a user must be assigned a standard VXRLabs License, in addition to an Add-On license.

  • As a Team Lead, Add-On offerings that your organization has purchased (whether a license is assigned to you or not) appear in color on the Nexus Dashboard. To access the respective Add-On content, you will still need to confirm that a license is assigned to you on its License Management page.
  • As an Instructor or Student, only Add-On offerings that are assigned to you appear in color.
  • Add-On offerings that your organization has not purchased appear in black-and-white with a shopping cart icon. Select one to open its store page, where you can see what the bundle includes, choose a Subscription Length and Quantity, and select Add To Cart.
Add-On Content screenshot

Note

  • If you are a Team Lead, and one of the Add-On tiles appears in color, but you don’t have access in-headset, please confirm that you are assigned a license on the respective License Management page.
  • If you are an Instructor or Student, and you are under the impression that your organization has purchased Add-On licenses, but you do not have access, please confirm that a Team Lead has assigned you a license to that respective Add-On.

Each Add-On experience, such as CTE Healthcare, has a distinct product page within Nexus where you can find supplementary 2D Instructional Materials and a License Management page.

Add-On Content screenshot

Some Add-On experiences, such as our CTE bundles, come with 2D Instructional Materials intended to supplement the virtual reality experience. For example, within the CTE Healthcare 2D instructional materials, you’ll find a series of 2D videos and text-based resources for Nursing and Medical Assistants. After completing sections of the 2D instructional materials, you will be prompted to then go in-headset to complete virtual reality simulations and apply the knowledge.

Add-On Content screenshot

Lastly, it’s important to note that Add-On content licenses function separately from your standard VXRLabs License. If you have assigned a VXRLabs license to a user, it does not mean that they have also been assigned a license to any Add-On content. The CTE Healthcare License, for example, must be assigned separately to each user who will be accessing the 2D and VR CTE content. You can do this from the License Management page on the Add-On’s product page.

Add-On Content screenshot

You can find direct links to the License Management page for each license below:

Help Center

The Help Center provides useful information and resources for accessing your content. Open it from Help Center in the left-hand menu or the Help Center tile under Tools & Links on the Nexus Dashboard.

Simulation Features

1 min read Updated September 2026

Creator Spaces are designed for users to customize and build within -> Users can bring in Spawnables, User-Uploaded-files, Sticky Notes and more. Simulations, on the other hand, are linear, subject-specific experiences with built-in instructions. These experiences are more interactive + guided, providing structured learning activities with predefined tasks and tools relevant to the subject matter. Users follow a set path with specific objectives

Simulation Features screenshot

An example of a simulation is the Crime Scene Investigation, where users can bring in various tools like evidence and fingerprint collection equipment to solve a crime. Another example would be a biology lab simulation where students perform virtual dissections or experiments following step-by-step instructions. Each simulation includes built-in tutorials to guide users.

Using Specialty Spawnables

Some spawnables are classified as Specialty Spawnables due to their enhanced functionality compared to standard Spawnables. Examples include the Test Cube (Physics), Climbing Bar, and Coordinate Point. The Test Cube (Physics) is physics-enabled, meaning it can be dropped, thrown, and will interact with other physics-enabled spawnables. The Climbing Bar allows users to climb using the two hand controllers, enabling them to scale to great heights in any environment. The Coordinate Point provides dynamic coordinates based on its placement in the environment. These are just a few examples of Specialty Spawnables available in the asset library. To identify all Specialty Spawnables available, head to the Asset Catalog in Nexus and filter by Specialty Spawnable.

Using Specialty Spawnables screenshot

Layouts

Once you’ve brought Spawnables into a Creator Space environment, you can save the configuration as a Layout to load in future sessions and share with others. To save a Layout, open the Menu, navigate to Spawnables, and select Layouts in the top-right corner. From there, you can select Create New Layout to save the layout to your account.

Layouts screenshot

Once you’ve selected Create New Layout, you can name the Layout and choose to either Include Locked (White) Spawnables in Layout, or to Include Shared (Blue) Spawnables in Layout.

When bringing in Spawnables, whether they will be Locked (White), or Shared (Blue), will be determined by whether this interactive button (below) says Spawns LOCKED or Spawns SHARED. If it says Spawns LOCKED, only the User who has brought the spawnable in will be able to interact with and save it, and the interactive button around the spawnable will appear white. If it says Spawns SHARED, all Users will be able to interact with it and save it in a Layout, and the interactive button around the spawnable with appear blue.

Layouts screenshot

Once your Layout is saved, you will see it appear in the Layout section. Each Layout will have a distinct tile (see below) that indicates the name of the Layout, and whether it is synced to Nexus. If the Cloud appears without a line through it, such as in the image below, the layout has been synced to Nexus, so you can login to your VictoryXR account through a web browser, open the Files section, and you will find the Layout saved as a .vxrl file, which you can download to your computer to share with others.

Layouts screenshot

You can load the Layout into your current session by selecting it. Once selected, you’ll see options to:

  • Sync with Nexus Account: This will force the system to sync the Layout with Nexus, making it available to download via your Nexus account.
  • Load Layout relative to your position: If checked, the Layout will load in relative to the position of your avatar at the time that it was saved. If un-checked, the Layout will load into the original location that it was saved in the Creator Space.
  • Load Layout as Shared Spawnables: If checked, all Spawnables included in the Layout will be Shared, so other Users can interact with and save them.
  • Delete: Delete the Layout
  • Duplicate Layouts: Duplicate the Layout

    • This removes the floor so you can see the full 360 video.
  • Scroll to the bottom of Collections and select My Nexus Files.
  • Select the 360 video file.
  • Once the file has loaded, change the mode on the video to:
    • Equiangular Cubemap, Panorama A, or Panorama B (try each one until one of them displays the video properly)

Shared / Locked Spawnables

In Creator Spaces, Spawnables can either be Shared or Locked. If a Spawnable is Locked, only the User who brought it into the environment can interact with it, and the circular interactive button around it will appear white. If a Spawnable is Shared, anyone in the environment can interact with it, and the circular button will be blue.

To bring in a shared spawnable, ensure the top of the Spawnables menu says Spawns SHARED. To bring in a locked spawnable, make sure the top of the menu says Spawns LOCKED. This allows you to control who can interact with each spawnable, providing flexibility in collaborative and individual activities.

Nodulus

4 min read Updated September 2026New

Nodulus is VictoryXR’s node-based programming language, built from the ground up for VXRLabs and included with every VXRLabs subscription. Inside a Creator Space, you place Wiring Nodes directly in 3D space and connect them with the Nodulus Wire Tool to build interactive environments, simulations, games, and learning experiences using real coding fundamentals. Because the nodes and wires are visible in the space, students can see exactly how the logic of their program flows.

Nodulus screenshot

With Nodulus, you can build things like:

  • Videos that start playing when a student enters an area
  • Quizzes that unlock a door or trigger an event when a student answers correctly
  • Working calculators and logic systems
  • Lesson-based escape rooms
  • Obstacle courses with moving platforms and timed traps
  • Animated simulations using vectors and trigonometry

Note

Nodulus is available in Creator Spaces. It cannot be used inside VXRLabs simulations, such as the CTE simulations.

The Nodulus Wire Tool

To start building, open your wristwatch menu and select Tools. Select the Nodulus icon, and then select Spawn under Nodulus Wire Tool. The Wire Tool is a handheld device that you use to connect nodes, and nodes and wires are visible while you are holding it. If other users in the session are also using a Wire Tool, their tools appear translucent, so you always know which one is yours.

The Nodulus Wire Tool screenshot

Wiring Nodes are found in the Spawnables menu, just like other spawnables. Select a node to bring it into the space.

The Nodulus Wire Tool screenshot

How Nodes Work

Each node has ports that you connect with wires. There are two types of ports:

  • Data ports (blue): Pass values, such as numbers, text, and true/false values, from one node to another.
  • Flow ports (green): Pass events, such as a button being pressed, that tell the next node when to act.

Each port also shows its direction. A port with an arrow pointing out is an output, and a port with an arrow pointing in is an input. To connect two ports, point the Wire Tool’s laser at an output and press the trigger, then point at an input and press the trigger again. When your machine runs, you can see pulses of data travel along the wires.

How Nodes Work screenshot

Every node also includes a Help button (?) and a Settings button (gear icon). Select Help to see a plain-English explanation of what the node does and how to use it.

How Nodes Work screenshot

Basic Nodes

Nodulus includes many nodes. Here are some of the basics:

  • Number Variables: Store numbers that other nodes can use.
  • Math nodes (such as Add): Perform calculations on numbers. You can switch the operation, for example to Multiply or Divide.
  • Text Display: Shows text or numbers in the space.
  • Button: A button in the space that sends a flow event when it is pressed.
  • Equal (=): Compares two values and outputs True or False.
  • If/Else: Continues the flow one way or another based on a True/False condition.
  • Player Detector: Creates a zone that sends flow events when a player enters or exits it.
  • Object Detector: Creates a zone that reacts when spawnables enter or exit it. You can add a filter to detect only a specific kind of spawnable.
  • Heartbeat: Sends a steady stream of flow events, for example 72 times per second, to create loops and smooth animations.
  • Initializer, Delay, and Timer: Control when things happen in your machine.

When you are holding the Wire Tool, media that you bring in from Nexus also shows its own nodes. For example, a video has flow inputs to play and pause it, and a synced quiz has outputs for when the quiz starts, when a new question is asked, whether the last answer was correct, the current score, the total number of questions, and when the quiz is complete.

Example: Play a Video When a Student Walks Up

  1. Bring in a video from your Nexus files, and hold the Wire Tool so that its nodes appear.
  2. Bring in a Player Detector node and place it where you want the video to start.
  3. Connect the Player Detector’s On Enter output to the video’s Play input.
  4. (Optional) Connect the On Exit output to the video’s Pause input, so the video pauses when the student walks away.
Example: Play a Video When a Student Walks Up screenshot

Example: Reward a Correct Quiz Answer

You can also build experiences around your Nexus quizzes. For example, to make something happen when a student gets a perfect score:

  1. Bring in a synced quiz, a Number Variable set to the target score, and an Equal (=) node.
  2. Connect the quiz’s current score output and the Number Variable to the Equal node’s inputs.
  3. Connect the Equal node’s True/False output to the Condition input of an If/Else node.
  4. Connect the quiz’s quiz complete output to the If/Else node’s Flow In input.
  5. Connect the If/Else node to the action you want to happen, such as spawning an object or opening a door.
Example: Reward a Correct Quiz Answer screenshot

Horizon Managed Services

Meta Horizon Managed Services (HMS) is a suite that enables organizations to securely deploy and manage Meta Quest headsets at scale, commonly known as a mobile device management solution. HMS is usually included with headsets purchased at the school or enterprise level, but is not typically included with headsets purchased by individual consumers.

3 min read Updated September 2026

Note

The instructions in this guide are primarily geared towards customers using Shared Mode with no account requirement. If you are configuring your headsets in Individual Mode, we recommend referencing the guide below for more complete instructions:

Meta Horizon Managed Services (HMS) - Setup and Enrollment Walkthrough

  • Log into the HMS Admin account you created during the enrollment process here: https://work.meta.com/.
  • Create a Device Preset (a set of configurations to be applied to your fleet of headsets).
    • One of the main considerations when configuring a Device Preset is Individual vs. Shared Mode.
      • Individual Mode: Intended for a Meta Quest device that’s used by one person in your organization.
      • Shared Mode: Device can be used by multiple people. Admins can choose whether an account is required to use the device. Meta Quest devices in Shared Mode will only be able to use apps that have been assigned by an admin to the Shared Mode device or device preset.
    • If your headsets will be used by multiple students and you’d like to avoid creating individual Meta accounts for each headset, we recommend Shared Mode. If Shared Mode is selected, you will still be able to choose whether an account is required to use the device. We recommend not requiring an account.
  • Set Permissions for your Device Preset.
  • Next, assign the Applications that should be installed to each headset, to include VXRLabs. You need to add VXRLabs to your Admin Center before you can assign it to devices.
      • Navigate to Apps & Content
      • Select Discover Apps
      • Search for VXRLabs in and Select Add to Your Apps

Note

If you create a Shared Mode preset, you will not have access to the traditional application store. You will have access to the select applications included in Discover Apps, or you can use the Invite Developer feature to request that a developer share their application directly with you.

  • Assign Files (images, videos, etc.) to your Device Preset as needed.
  • Assign Networks and Certificates as needed (During initial enrollment, you will need to manually input Network information for each headset).
  • Configure the Device experience for every user session.
  • Next, you will want to create a group of devices from the Device groups tab under the Devices section of the Admin Center, and assign the Device Preset to that group so the headsets that you add will automatically make use of that preset.

In-VR Enrollment: Once the Preset is finalized and a Device group has been created, power on your first headset.

  • Complete the hardware start-up flow (controller pairing, Wi-Fi connection, OS updates).
  • Once on the pairing screen, press the button “Connect to your organization” at the bottom left. The 5-digit code on this screen is not used for pairing with HMS.
    • * If your device has been pre-enrolled in the HMS instance beforehand, you might not see this screen and go directly to the next step.
Horizon Managed Services screenshot
  • Click on “Continue” to start enrolling the device or logging in with an account.
  • Once on the HMS pairing screen, copy or memorize the 8-digit device code.
  • As an admin, go to https://work.meta.com/device_management/all_devices on the web and click on the “Enroll Devices” button on the top right of the device list.
  • Then select the configuration to apply to the device and input the 8-digit device code from the previous step and click on “Enroll device”. You will see a confirmation message on the bottom right corner confirming that the device is being enrolled.
  • Back to the headset, and after the device has installed the required components to proceed, on the next screen, click on “Continue” to confirm that you want to delegate the management of the device to HMS.

For more detailed information on each step in the process, please refer to Meta Horizon Managed Services (HMS) - Setup and Enrollment Walkthrough.

Firewall and Network Access for Nexus and VXRLabs

Two things have to be true before headsets work on a school network: the domains and ports below have to be allowed, and the headsets themselves have to be on a network policy that uses that allowlist.

4 min read Updated September 2026

Allow these domains and ports

Additionally, UDP ports 5055 through 5058 should be whitelisted.

If your school also uses HoloTutor, allow app.holotutor.ai as well.

The headsets also need Meta

Our domains cover VXRLabs and Nexus. A headset still has to reach Meta to sign in, update and install apps, so if setup or the Meta Horizon Store fails on school Wi-Fi, ask IT to allow meta.com, facebook.com, fbcdn.net and akamaihd.net, plus time sync to time.facebook.com. Meta publishes the full list in its networking requirements for managed headsets.

Put the headsets on a policy that uses the allowlist

Allowing the domains is only half of the job. Most school firewalls and content filters decide what to allow per device or per signed-in user, and a headset never signs in to the filter. Devices the filter does not recognize fall back to a default policy, which is usually the strictest one: it can require a login, inspect HTTPS, or simply not use the allowlist your team just set up. From the classroom this looks identical to not whitelisting at all. Nexus and VXRLabs hang or refuse to sign in, while IT can see the domains sitting in the allowlist.

Ask whoever runs the network to do this for the headsets:

  1. Collect each headset’s Wi-Fi MAC address. See Find a headset’s MAC address below. Most systems accept a list, and a device can usually be added before it has ever joined the network.
  2. Register those MAC addresses in the firewall, content filter or wireless dashboard, so the headsets are known devices instead of unknown ones.
  3. Assign the headsets to a policy that matches the allowlist. That policy should allow the domains and ports above, skip HTTPS inspection (or trust the certificate you installed, below), and not require a user login or captive-portal sign-in.
  4. Re-test in the room where classes will run. Put on a headset connected to that Wi-Fi, sign in to VXRLabs and join a session. A laptop on staff Wi-Fi proves nothing about the headsets.

What this setting is called depends on the product: device policy, client policy, group policy, device profile or device group. On Cisco Meraki, for example, every client starts on a policy called Normal and can be switched to Allow listed, which exempts that device from firewall rules, content filtering and splash pages, and a device can be added by MAC address before it ever connects.

If it works on a hotspot but not at school

When a headset works on a phone hotspot and fails on school Wi-Fi, the domains are rarely the problem. Look at which policy the headset lands on.

One school had our domains whitelisted for weeks and still could not connect. The headsets started working as soon as each device’s policy was changed from the default to the whitelist policy, and the rest of the fleet was fixed in one sitting by sending IT a list of MAC addresses.

Find a headset’s MAC address

  • In the headset: open Settings > Wi-Fi, select the network (under Saved networks if it has already joined) and open its details. The MAC address is listed there, along with a choice between Use randomized MAC and Use device MAC.
  • From your MDM: Meta Horizon Managed Services, ArborXR and ManageXR all show each device’s MAC address, which is the quickest way to hand IT the whole fleet at once.

Randomized MAC addresses

Quest headsets can present a different, made-up MAC address to each network, and newer models do this by default. If IT registers the hardware MAC while the headset connects with a randomized one, the policy will never match and nothing changes.

Set each headset to Use device MAC on the school network before you send the list (or push that setting from your MDM), and ask IT to confirm the address they see matches the one you sent.

HTTPS inspection and certificates

If a school uses a web filtering solution that can proxy HTTPS traffic, that filter’s certificate will need to be installed on each headset by following the filter’s guide for installing the certificate on an Android device.

To test if HTTPS traffic filtering is in effect, open a new tab, open the developer console (press F12 or Ctrl+Shift+I), click on “Network”, go to https://api.victoryxr.com/api/v1/version in that same new tab, click on the request for “version”, and see if the Response headers include a header called “Via”. If this header is present, it means that the request has been intercepted by an HTTPS traffic filter and the certificate for that filter will need to be installed on the headsets.
