My heart is overwhelmed. 🎶 💞
I’ve often been asked “what is the purpose of education?”
I’ve always answered to raise mindful, loving, curiosity driven and respectful decision makers that become contributing citizens to society.

Yesterday, words that have been in my heart for decades emerged from someone else’s voice. Shared passions through someone I don’t even know (but would be honored to meet), from someone she never met.

Yesterday, I witnessed thoughtful disagreements and socratic conversations around powerful “why’s” about what is happening in education and what the future of teaching may look like in this evolution of change.

I thoroughly enjoyed the engaging discourse among academics, entrepreneurs and policy leaders. The convergence was magical.

I am sure it will be full of highlights, because we so often agree on everything in our writings. To Kenisha Skaggs, and Eric Wearne, Meredith Olson, Rachel Good, and so many others, I also missed your presentations, but I am already inspired that the discussion is even being had.

To bring about change and make it purposeful, we must listen, be flexible, and collaborate with others to help visions transform into realities. We must provide opportunities for our students to make hard choices, become leaders, and thoughtful followers. We must include ways to embrace technology, using it wisely and responsibly.

Education should be about EACH student.

It is time. I am grateful that quiet prayers are being answered for students and families everywhere.
